Blueprint : The Console Multi Changer

VoxelArcade Blueprint # 002

OK, so we said that some of our Blueprint ideas might be a bit mad and unlikely to ever happen, but what the hell:

I’m not really a big fan of motion-controlled games because, well, after a hard day’s work, the absolute last thing that I want to do is move any part of my body beyond fingers and thumbs. Even a refill of the old Guinness is an unwelcome effort when I’m truly Zen’d so if there’s one thing that really makes me huff-and-puff it’s having to get off the bloody couch and change discs in the damned console.

Yes, I know, we’re supposed to be going all download-only but I’m rather fond of physical copies and will be stubbornly clinging on to them for at least another generation or three if that’s all the same.

So here’s the deal: just like I’ve got a lovely front-loading multi changer built into my car, I want one built into my console. I don’t really care how big and ugly it is because next to my insanely large TV, it’ll still pale into insignificance. I don’t give a damn what the missus thinks of this monstrosity, I don’t care if the kids can’t figure out what to do with it and its carbon footprint can go and kiss my perfectly couched ass. And if no console manufacturer is willing to man-up and make one, I want some third party to either produce a suitably gaudy, boy-racer-esque peripheral that does the job or at lest have the decency to custom-build machines once they’ve left the production line, rather like RUF bastardise Porsches.

Oh, and I want it to be called ‘Bertha’ and be fitted with neon lights. That change colour depending on my mood. Which will be mostly Zen.

And just how many games exactly should this beast be able to hold? Hmm … 400 should just about do it:

What is a Blueprint?

  1. I really wish I hadn’t found that video. I’m now entertaining the thought of buying one…
