How could we have an entire section of the site dedicated to great game introduction sequences, without mentioning Xenon 2: Megablast for the Amiga? This Bitmap Bros classic was a phenomenal shoot ’em up with gorgeous graphics and a brilliant upgrade system.
However, the first thing that will come to mind for many people when you mention Xenon 2 is the classic Bomb The Bass track, which can be found in its entirety in the otherwise simple introduction screen. The same track is played in-game, but is somewhat simplified, and was further diminished in the console and PC versions.
So, the Amiga version was the very best, with the legendary music thumping out the screen. The graphical side of the intro is comprised of simple spinning text credits, but who cares when the music is this good?
