Cart: Another World Cab: Amiga, Atari ST, DOS Coin: Delphine
A lot of our looks at introduction sequences concentrate on the flashiness of the intro, or the impact it had on technology and gaming, but here we have a game that is included here purely for one thing: atmosphere.
Another World was a beautiful game that was a true step forward in restrained storytelling in gaming. The intro follows the same design ethos, with a simple set up that, when taken as its own story, leaves us with a slightly chilling ending. One minute he is there, the next he is gone.
